Position Overview
A private family is seeking an experienced and dedicated Butler to join their household on a live-in basis. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring a calm, professional, and highly reliable individual capable of delivering consistent five-star service within a private home environment.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable supporting both household operations and personal family requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House & Guest Service
- Provide professional meet and greet for family members and guests.
- Support dining service, including table setting and service when required.
- Maintain a welcoming and well-presented household environment at all times.
Household Support
- Assist the housekeeper with daily duties where needed.
- Ensure household operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, order, and presentation.
Driving & Transport
- Carry out driving duties for family members, including appointments and errands.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, maintained, and ready for use.
Meal Preparation
- Prepare light meals as required for the family.
- Support basic kitchen organisation and food presentation.
Pet Care
- Assist with care of household pets.
- Ensure feeding, walking, and general wellbeing of animals.
- Support occasional pet-related errands or appointments.
Shopping & Errands
- Undertake occasional shopping duties.
- Support household provisioning and personal errands as required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as a Butler or in a private household role.
- Full UK driving licence with clean record.
- Strong all-round household and service skills.
- Comfortable with pets and animal care.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to duties and schedule.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
Desirable
- Experience in live-in private household roles.
- Background in luxury hospitality or private service.
- Basic cooking or meal preparation experience.
