Position Overview
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced and personable Lady Butler / Household Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of a private household in Manchester.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and attentive to detail, with a genuine love of animals. The Principal is particularly devoted to her pets, making this an essential aspect of the role. The successful candidate will provide practical household support while ensuring the residence is maintained to a high standard and the Principal's daily requirements are met efficiently and discreetly.
Key Responsibilities
Household Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the household.
- Ensure the residence is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation.
- Coordinate household supplies and routine maintenance requirements.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers as required.
Personal Assistance
- Accompany and drive the Principal to appointments, including hairdressing appointments, shopping trips, and other engagements.
- Assist with errands and personal shopping.
- Provide general day-to-day support to the Principal.
Pet Care
- Assist with the care and wellbeing of household pets.
- Ensure pets receive appropriate attention, care, and supervision.
- Coordinate veterinary appointments and pet-related requirements when necessary.
Hospitality & Household Duties
- Prepare light meals for the Principal.
- Assist with household organisation and entertaining when required.
- Maintain a welcoming and comfortable home environment.
Gardening (Desirable)
- Assist with light gardening duties if experienced and interested.
- Help maintain outdoor spaces to a pleasant standard.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a private household, butler, house manager, or similar role.
- Excellent spoken English.
- Valid driving licence and confident driver.
- Genuine love of animals and experience caring for pets.
- Ability to prepare light, healthy meals.
- Professional, trustworthy, and discreet.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
