Position Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Butler / Valet to support an elderly gentleman in his private residence in St Ives.
This is a highly personal, one-to-one role requiring discretion, reliability, and a warm, professional manner. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering consistent daily support while ensuring the Principal’s comfort, routine, and lifestyle needs are met to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Butler & Personal Service Duties
- Provide daily butler and valet support to the Principal.
- Manage wardrobe care, including organisation, maintenance, and presentation.
- Assist with daily routines and household coordination.
- Ensure a calm, well-ordered, and comfortable household environment.
Household Support
- Carry out general household duties as required.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and readiness of key living areas.
- Assist in ensuring the home is well-presented at all times.
Driving & Transport
- Provide occasional driving duties for appointments, errands, and outings.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, maintained, and ready for use.
- Support safe and reliable transportation arrangements.
Personal Assistance
- Support the Principal with day-to-day requirements.
- Provide companionship in a respectful and professional manner where appropriate.
- Assist with errands and personal requests.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as a Butler, Valet, or Private Household Assistant.
- Full UK driving licence with clean record.
- Strong sense of discretion, reliability, and professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a one-to-one private household environment.
- Flexible, calm, and attentive approach.
Desirable
- Experience working with elderly principals.
- Background in private service, hospitality, or luxury households.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
